“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3, 5 NIV
I had never connected God’s faithfulness with his protection until a few years ago during a bible study. When I read these verses in Thessalonians, I began to realize that God’s faithfulness is a major key to his spiritual protection for his believers. His protection is not based or founded on our efforts or accomplishments but on the Father’s faithfulness to us, his children. God never changes! Circumstances or issues do not matter as He is faithful.
We will receive his strength, his love and his protection because He is faithful. The beauty of this promise is that our perseverance will grow and mature in Christ due to his being faithful to us each and everyday. The connection of protection and his faithful presence in our lives should not surprise us as he will always be there for us.
