Life has a way of bringing to us challenges that can wear on us and take from us the very joy of living. As the new year approaches, many will plan how to make changes in their lives to better themselves and correct habits that are not beneficial to their long term well being. While these efforts are well intended, they may not touch upon the vital area of our spiritual walk with our Lord.
Physical changes will enhance our ability to enjoy our lives but will not guarantee our joy, peace and true happiness. Only being renewed in Christ can accomplish that feat. A new year is a chance to renew, change and improve who we are inwardly and outwardly. When our sin nature has been cast aside and we walk in his redemption, not only will we be renewed in our spirit but bodies as well. Joyful people are content and more at peace than those who are not.
