We all like to have some advance notice of events and happenings in our lives. We like to informed, warned or educated as to what is coming our way. Some of us can be even called obsessive in our keeping of our calendars and the events they represent. We could say we are controlled by our schedules.
In Isaiah, we find the prophet declaring prepare a way for the Lord, even in the tough places for he tells us of the coming comfort of God- the Messiah. When we make a way for the Messiah in our lives, the glory of God is revealed not only to us but those who around us. The Word talks about the wilderness, the desert of our lives need to be prepared, made straight so his great comfort, our Savior can be embraced and glorified.
Find yourself in the wilderness of life, parched by the desert you dwell in? There is a great hope, a great comforter who awaits you if you heed the calling of our Lord. The opportunity has been provided but you have to accept his gift of grace and love through your repentance or change. Prepare to blessed all the days of your life if you make straight your path in the Lord.
