Character are foundational traits that make up the who we are. Now I have found that there are three real ways for us to build a Godly character. There is God’s word, interaction with people and the circumstances we find ourselves in. God uses each of these to help mold us into the disciple he has called us to be.
First is God’s word. His word is the truth we need to build our lives on. There are so many who claim to have the wisdom we need but there is only one true source- the word of God. Use his word as the sign posts for your lives to guide you and teach you the wisdom you need for your life. Feed on it everyday!
Second, people are the instruments God will use to build you up in your life. People are intended by God to be in relationship with you, encourage you and support you. It is through these fellowships we gain the ability to grow and develop as we need to through our days.
Lastly, God uses our circumstances to produce an environment that will provide us the opportunity to grow and move forward in our faith walk. When tested we gain the ability to learn even in the midst of tough times.
Since we have heard of Jesus, we have begun to put on his attitudes and take up his truth in our lives. We can use all three of these tools to grow our new lives in him. Our God moves in many ways, but know each day he is calling us closer to him!
