“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

The Holy Spirit was sent from the Father as the representative of Jesus. The Holy Spirit did not come to speak about himself but came to reveal Jesus to us and the world. When we have the Holy Spirit, our lives, our environment should change to reflect the vitality and power of God’s spirit. As new creatures in Christ, we now have the teacher, the one who can guide us in the ways of Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the dynamic of faith in our lives. He reveals God’s word to us, empowers us to believe and shows us the glory of the Father’s kingdom.
Nothing in all of creation can take his place. Jesus knew of our need for God’s spirit by telling us he would have to go so that the spirit could come.
As believers, we should openly welcome the Spirit of God into our lives, submit to his will and follow his ways. Our reliance should be on the Advocate God has sent us and nothing else. The fruit of the spirit will mark the quality of your life in Christ- love, joy, peace, goodness!
The gift of the spirit to us who believe enforces the awesome difference between our relationship with God and a lifeless religion. We have the Advocate of the living God within us to show us the way to glory!
