Where Have You Gone, Lord?

“My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Have you found it easy to feel close to God when everything seems to going right in your world? When you haven’t encountered a real trial or trouble and you seem at peace, God appears to be very close and loving. But, how do you feel when you are pressed against on all sides and seems no relief is coming your way. Do you feel close to the Lord in these times?

The good times are ones where little faith is required but real thankfulness is! Bad times seem to flip the script where we need greater faith but we also need to be thankful as well. I believe herein lies the key to our success in bad times, a faithful and thankful heart.

When we are pressed and afflicted, now is the time to press into the Lord not feel he has walked away from us. Rather than to forget our life’s experiences with him, we should remember the times he has been there for us. With thanksgiving, we should celebrate the past victories and know our God will never forsake us!

David, a man after God’s own heart often felt abandoned. Yet, he did not dwell in those feelings but remembered the goodness of the Lord in his life. His praise, his prayers of gratitude lifted him up to show him he was never really alone. God was with him every step of the way!

When you ask where are you Lord, remember he there with you and is as close as your next breath!

In Christ
