There always seems to be one outstanding quality or characteristic that draws us to people we trust and value. They are loyal beyond the pale or they are givers who make everyone’s life a better experience. Whatever that quality is it draws us to them, we value their presence in our lives. My guess is that these kind of people are in short supply in this self-centered world we live in.
That brings me to my God. What draws me closer to him, pushes me to seek him even in my most difficult times? What quality does my God have that nurtures my faith and changes my heart? For me, it is his unconditional love for me! He flat out loves me. That love is not based on what I do or don’t do but how my God sees me through the flow of my life.
He knows me completely yet he loves me despite my failures. My God desires for he and I to be in relationship with each other and knowing I could never make it work on my own, he provided a bridge of unchanging love to reach me. He knows I am but dust for he made us from the dirt of creation. He knows I am frail and weak no matter the front I put up. No, despite it all He loves me forever!
That is why I am his and believe in and love him, because he first loved me!
