Everyone has a different set of beliefs as to how they determine value In their lives. Some people value the material things of this world while others seek the spiritual aspects of life. Some value family and relationships far above most anything else in their life’s pursuits. One thing is for sure, we are all valuable because someone cares about us.
Jesus in teaching his disciples, made a vivid point about how much the Father cares about us, values us. His statement was simple, God cares deeply about you and will provide for you. Then he moved seamlessly into the subject of worry. If he cares for us and will provide for us, why do we spend one moment in worry? My answer is that I must not fully trust his word and the value he places on me.
If I did, I would have a much different outlook on life and would be not so eager to interject my efforts into my life’s events. I would not worry about the circumstances of my life as deeply as I do! Jesus tells us that all the worry cannot add one a single moment to our lives. In other words, our worry has no real value.
So how can we know that God truly values us? Look at the price he paid to redeem your life. He gave up his perfect son for us. A sacrifice of untold magnitude was made for our lives. This is how we can know that God values us beyond measure- true value!
