Faith is Built on Relationship, Not Religion

“You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I have read the New Testament several times and I am yet to find where Jesus tells us that faith comes by the way religion. Religion is the knowledge of our Lord but lacks the heart felt belief in his word and his kingdom. Jesus came to restore mankind’s relationship with God that was broken due to sin. Jesus stands at the doorway of our lives desiring a new relation by our acceptance of him as our Lord and savior. He desires to walk with us, keep us and bless us through that relationship.

When Jesus is our Lord, our desire will be to praise him, to seek him and to obey his direction for our life. Our love for Jesus will place him first in our lives, not our knowledge of him. James tells us that even the demons believe in God, but they have no relationship with him.

Our focus must be the desire to worship and serve our savior Jesus Christ! When we walk as his disciples in this life, our relationship with him will make all the difference in our lives and our future. The two great commands are both about relationships not religion. Let us seek our Lord everyday and we will see his goodness in abundance in our life!

In Christ
