We who draw a breathe in this life will be in need of true and loving counsel at some point in time. We will reach a point where our limited knowledge runs out, where our experience leaves us vulnerable to error or wrong direction. We are in need of wisdom that we do not possess. Now this is a time where counsel from a true friend can help us to find our way.
This kind of relationship of true friendship can be invaluable to us and our needs for wisdom. Wisdom given in love will always be more accepted than counsel that is offered as condemnation . Often we think to ourselves that we can make it on our own, we can handle it. We miss out the wisdom and experience of those who care for us and a chance to avoid making wrong decisions.
Proverbs tells us that heartfelt counsel of a friend is counted as a blessing. We should always offer counsel in a loving manner not in judgement. We should also accept such counsel as a blessing. Our goal is to have wisdom operating in our lives and Godly wisdom is the best!
