Being Content

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have seen in God’s promises that he will meet all our needs by his riches and glory. There should be a great deal of contentment in that promise as we do not have to worry about our provision in this life. But, most people operate on the when concept, when I get the right job, when I buy that house or when my ship comes in. We waste many present days seeking the future but have no contentment with where we are right now.

Where we are as believers is that we are the children of God, saved by the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ and destined for a glorious eternity with him. How can we not be content with those conditions of life? We often forego our present joy and peace by pressing hard against the future and forgetting the delights of living in the Lord’s marvelous grace today. Paul often talked about he was content in all circumstances because he was one with the Lord.

Don’t miss the beauty and grace of God today by fixing your vision solely on tomorrow’s Whens.

In Christ
