Finding One Who Cares

“And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭38‬-‭40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We all have moments where we feel we are under the gun and we are facing circumstances that threaten us. These could be physical, could be emotional or can be monetary. Makes no difference what type of situation it is, we would just like have someone care about us in our time of trouble.

The disciples felt this way in the boat as a storm raged about them. They watched as the boat filled with water and Jesus was a sleep in the back. Their cry to him was don’t you care we are about to die! Haven’t we felt that way? Doesn’t anyone care what I going through, won’t anyone help me? We want someone to care about us, to have compassion on us and relive our burden.

I am comforted by what Jesus told them after he calmed the storm, “how is it you have no faith”? Jesus is the game changer! His presence in our lives should change our expectations because of who is. We are no longer tossed to a fro by the world as we belong to him. He has told us “he has got this”. He has our lives, our needs, our battles, our issues. He has them under control. He arose and rebuked the storm and all was well. He will rebuke our storm as well but we must have faith.

Our circumstances do not dictate whether Our Lord will move on our behalf. His love and grace will cause him to move. Why, because he cares for us! Nothing escapes his attention or his love. We should do as he did in the boat, rest, rest and have faith in him for he cares for us!

In Christ
