Confession is the Agent of Change

“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There comes a moment in our lives when we understand that there needs to be changes in our life. Our situations, our afflictions push us to the realization that changes in our life are needed and we must own our portion of our struggle. This time is crucial because we have two ways of o go: deny we need change which is confession or embrace it and begin to correct our mistakes and restore our lives thru Christ.

John tells us that if we claim we have no sin, no need of confession and change, we are foolish for we are denying the truth. But if we confess our sin to the Lord, he is faithful to forgive. We cannot fix our issues in life without realizing our need for confession, our need for a savior in our life. Confession of our sin leads us to the process of changing our lives from one of sin to one of salvation thru Christ.

Confession allows the Lord to begin to build the relationship that was lost due to sin. The catalyst of this restoration is confession. God will forgive your sin and cleanse us from our wickedness. The beauty of God’s grace is that this forgiveness is a gift to us as we confess and change our ways. This grace is for everyone and everyday. But the process of salvation begins with confession!
