“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6 NIV
Most things in our world including us takes time to mature, to fully develop. Fruit takes an entire season before it ripens and then can be enjoyed. We ourselves take years to grow up and become more adult in our thinking and our ways. Things just take time to mature and develop.
The same is true of our relationship with God. From the first moment we surrendered to Christ, we are embarked on a journey of growth, development and surrender. There are many facets to our lives and some of those areas we will give up more easily than others. Our faith is honed in the heat of tribulation and affliction. Our testimony is crafted over time when we see the Lord move over and over again in our lives.
We cannot rush this process of spiritual growth but we can learn to enjoy it, embrace it and seek it daily. Our verse tells us to be confident that he who began a good work in you will see it to completion. There are none who are truly good but God. He will fashion our life of glory not only for today but for eternity. Enjoy the ride!
In Christ
