I can remember vividly my childhood Christmas mornings. I was so inpatient for Christmas to come and to see what treasures had placed under the tree, not only for me but for the whole family. It was truly difficult to focus on school or other activities for I was waiting for that special morning. How many other occasions, situations can we name where we have a great anticipation for them to come. Waiting on the Lord fits very nicely into this discussion.
We may have prayed for something and now we are waiting for God to move. We can get discouraged if that wait has any length to it and wonder about what’s taking so long. I want to share two key factors with you. First, focus on your problem solver not your problem. God may use this time to grow your faith but the best solution is headed your way. God only deals in creating excellence and it may take time for us to reach the point of faith needed for our answer.
Secondly, focus on how far you have already come with God! As you seek God you will begin to renew your whole life and many of the past issues no longer matter. We often choose to look at how far we have to go rather than how far we have already come. God has been faithful and he will see you through to end of this season.
Our focus is crucial in this process of receiving God’s revelation. Fix our hearts and minds on God, praise him that not only will he answer you but that answer will be just what you need!
God deals in the miraculous, isn’t that worth the wait!
