How often in our lives have we made reservations for a restaurant, a hotel, a vacation or for a plane flight? We make such reservations because we have determined that this is the best way to guarantee us what we want for a certain event. Without a reservation, we may find ourselves unable to travel, unable to enjoy the very thing we had hoped to do. If we truly want an action to take place, we need the right reservations.
When it comes to our lives both here on earth and the eternal portion, the same fact applies. Do we have the right reservations? We are told not to rejoice that we have been given power and authority here on earth, but that our names appear in the Lambs Book of Life. Simply put, this book has all those whose names appear because they are believers in Jesus Christ. This is God’s book of reservations for heaven. It guarantees you admission to heaven forever. Jesus tells us that this is what has real value for our lives. So the question for us all is, do we have a reservation for heaven? Have we accepted Jesus as our Savior? You see this is a gift from God, he paid for your reservation thru the blood of his Son.
So the real question that surrounds this journey of our life, do we have our place in glory with the Lord reserved for us? Or are we missing in the book of heaven that guarantees our life in eternity with our Lord. Trust me the alternatives with no reservation are not an existence you would wish on your worst enemy!
