““So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Luke 11:9-10 NIV
When you read the account of the life of Jesus, you see great miracles taking place. There was the feeding of the 5,000, walking on water and raising the dead. But we may miss Christ’s primary mission while here on earth, he came to seek out and save the lost. While we should definitely celebrate the miracles he performed, we should remember Christ’s focus was saving people from separation from his Father.
This is a good reminder that we are called to do the very same thing, bring the Good News of salvation to this world. The word tells us that if we ask we will receive: if we seek we will find; if we knock it will opened to us. This pertains to us having access to what we need from the Kingdom of God to carry out our calling of evangelism. I truly believe the greatest work the church has is the salvation of lost souls.
God has given us the opportunity to witness, the privilege to take his message of hope to our dying world. He tells us that if we seek him, we find him. When we find him, we have found the greatest treasure ever known to mankind! We need to be people of purpose, people filled with his love, people who put his command to evangelize the world into action. That is how we will accomplish great things for our Lord! It is all possible thru our Lord!
