Healing Process

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

One of the great obsessions we have in this country is to find ways to remain healthy, to restore our physical bodies. Being in a healthy lifestyle does pay huge dividends for our lives but I want to remind us all of some very critical aspects of the healing process. First, God is our healer! While God can use any and all tools available to him like modern medicine, he alone is the healer of our spirits, emotions and our bodies.

Second, there are things we can do for ourselves to dramatically improve our lives. How about the scripture today: a cheerful heart is good medicine but a crushed spirit dries up our bones. I am a firm believer in a good attitude. If we approach the issues in our lives with a positive attitude driven by our faith in God, the outcomes and circumstances are going to be more beneficial than we could have imagined.

Third: posses a living hope in something that is greater than ourselves. God provides for us an eternal hope in The coming of Jesus Christ to take us home. That hope is a bulwark, a foundation in our lives that carries us past our trials, past our dark times into our Father’s restoring light and love. While the physical is important, the spiritual and emotional aspects of our lives with God can make all the difference. The Word says by his stripes we are healed! His healing is not just physical but the whole of who we are, mind, soul and body. Amen

In Christ
