“People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,”
2 Timothy 3:2-3 NIV
The Bible tells us the signs of coming trials of the world before our Lord comes again to rule and reign. Paul expresses these signs in terms of human behavior that we will witness here in our world. When you read this list, does it not strike a chord in our hearts that we may indeed be living in the vestiges of this coming time of judgment. One very important question for us “who do we worship”?
Anything that we love more, fear more, or serve more than God has become an idol in our lives. If we love ourselves and seek to serve our ourselves, our own desires more than the will of God in our lives, we have a major problem. All are called to love the Lord and worship him above all else in our lives. When I read that command there are no exceptions listed. Are we today my friends following the desires of our heart above the love for our God?
The promises of God are lavish and rich in content concerning our lives. If we place our Lord on the throne of our heart, we will truly be blessed beyond measure. Let us guard our heart from believing in that we count more, are worth more than the Father who loves us and created us. Worship the Lord and enjoy the fruit of his great glory.
In Christ
