Seek Fellowship!

““Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NIV

The term fellowship has come to mean a time of social interaction a time of refreshments and chatter. A time of fellowship should be something much more intimate and life supportive. Fellowship is when we believers gather, usually in smaller groups, to live life together not just have coffee. Fellowship brings us closer as we learn about our individual stories, our past issues and present trials. It is in these times of fellowship that we can grow closer to others, encourage them, support them and nurture one another. We can find bonds of compassion, strength in each other’s support and love in tough times.

Our verse tells us that God honors such fellowship by being in the midst of a gathering of believers, even if it is only two of them. There is power in unity of believers who agree upon issues of prayer and praise for I believe God inhabits the prayers and praises of his people. Two can do what one cannot and a three fold cord is not easily broken. We as believers can find great strength in, great comfort and great faith together in true fellowship.

We cannot then forsake the gathering together of those who believe in Christ. For in that coming together we will not only find peace but we will find the presence of the Lord!

In Christ
