“‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.””
Haggai 2:9 NIV
We often look back on past times and relish the memories that we have of such times. I can remember a large number of people who have told me of such times as the best time of their life. While it is good to remember the special times of our lives, we shouldn’t be trapped in our past at the expense of our todays and tomorrows. We have new experiences and memories to create and new opportunities to explore.
Today Haggai tells us that the glory of this present house will be greater than the former house. Our future is going to be greater than our past. How can it be so, since we are all aging and suffering with the signs of such a process. God is a God of great past events like your salvation but he is also a God of fabulous futures. Scripture tells us that eye has not seen nor the mind thought of the wonderful things of God’s kingdom. Certainly the future will be different but that doesn’t mean it will not be grand.
Our very best days with God are coming my friends and they will so glorious we cannot now see all that he has for us. We are not called to retire in our walk of faith but live each day given with passion and faith. There are many tasks yet to be accomplished and many souls to be touched. We pray for better outcomes to our daily situations but God gives us something even better, an eternal life of true peace and prosperity.
Look up my friends, the best is yet to come and when it does, we will blown away!
In Christ
