“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.””
Hebrews 10:36-37 NIV
There is a major difference between not yet and no. When we pray, there are three answers we will get from God: yes, no and not yet. The not yet option is the one that causes us the most difficulty for we must wait for the answer from God. Most of us if asked would say I can be patient a few times but when something takes seemingly forever, we may be stretched beyond our ability.
There two areas of our prayers where we may be amiss from God’s will, timing and substance. Substance is us asking for something outside of God’s will for our lives. Timing is all about when do we receive God’s answer to our prayers. Timing is something we humans like to have happen sooner than later, like in the few minutes if you please. God does not operate in that manner. He follows his divine plan for us to be delivered in his perfect timing. If we truly want the very best from God we should realize his method of operation and be willing to wait for the right answer.
Hebrews tells us that we need to persevere to accomplish God’s will and that will bring what God has promised to us. We need to understand that not yet is not a no but an opportunity to grow our faith by being patient. God has heard your prayer, he still cares for and loves you but he is waiting for the perfect moment to give you his answer.
Don’t lose hope in the waiting for God’s best is coming your way.
In Christ
