Recharge Your Heart

“The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭30‬-‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We are to love one another as Christ loves us. But how do we accomplish such a fete everyday without taking time to rest, to recharge our hearts and our spirits. Jesus himself took time away from the hustle and noise of his busy life to tap into his relationship with his Father. He found not only great peace in these times alone but also found the great love of his Father that refueled his compassion and purpose. If Jesus needed time alone to recharge his life, I quite sure we do as well.

We cannot love others as we should when our spiritual tank is empty. We cannot do the works of goodness when we are exhausted physically and spiritually. Jesus told his disciples to come with him to a quiet place so that they rest. First, we need to spend quality time with our Lord. It is in his presence that worries and concerns are put to rest. Second, we need to learn to let go and let God be the power in our lives. We cannot rest if we cannot surrender our issues and lives to him.

Jesus is the midst of our lives and knows every detail. He and he alone has the heavenly perspective for our lives that will not only bless us but refresh us as well. He called to us to lay down our burdens. We cannot do so unless we spend time with him recharging our hearts with his love and peace and trusting him to be our source and power.

I know you carry burdens today! I do as well. We must learn to come with him to a time peace and rest to recharge our lives so we do our part not fall apart. Seek Jesus today and find his rest. It will change your entire outlook on life.

In Christ
