When Our Prayers Are Delayed

“This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.”
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In these days and times there seems to be one overriding factor in how we like to do business- we like it to happen now! Ever notice how we cannot wait for much of anything anymore? We are an impatient group and we like to be served very quickly. How about drive thru lanes at restaurants? If we sit down to eat we want service in just a few minutes. We don’t like to stand in lines and we have little patience for things that take time like traffic jams or rush hours.

In our prayer life we often get impatient with God due to his timing on answering our prayers. The prophet tells us to wait patiently for God’s will for your prayers will be accomplished. Often, God is telling us “not yet”. His timing is perfect as are his solutions to our problems. They my friends, are worth waiting for. I have had to wait for God on several prayer requests. I have seen him be faithful over and over again in my life and he is worthy of our respect and patience. If you have prayed to God for something, God has heard you and now he is going to work out his perfect answer for you. His answer right now might be not yet but that is not a no! We need to trust him and have faith that he indeed will meet our needs and fight our battles for us. We just need to wait on our Father to deliver on his promises to us.

When you have to wait on God, that wait is so worth our effort, our trust and our faith. He will deliver!

In Christ
