“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
There are alot of things that motivate us in life. We can be driven to provide for our family, want to prepare for our future or we just have a desire to excel in what we do. In our work lives we often have the motivation to do well as a way to impress those we work for, to keep our job or to move ahead in our careers. While none of these are by themselves a bad trait to have, they will all leave us short.
You see the work we do, the things we engage in can have a much deeper meaning than just a paycheck. These actions we take can become a testimony of our love and devotion to our Savior. Through Jesus we have been given an inheritance in God’s kingdom. We can gain future and present blessings by doing whatever we do to honor our Lord who has saved us. Our lives should be a testament to Him about the love and respect we have for him by doing all things to the best of our ability.
Remember, we are serving Christ the Son of God, not man. Not only will we find real meaning in our work, but we will be blessed all of our days for doing so!
