“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”
Romans 5:8-9 NIV
The way we are taught is that we have work to do before we engage in various aspects of our society. Things like developing manners before we go to school so we can function properly while there. Gain life skills so that when we meet our future partner, we will be equipped to add real value to our marriage. There are others but the idea is that we must clean ourselves up before we can engage.
Jesus doesn’t say that, he states the opposite. Come to me with your burdens, come with your chains of sin, come with the hurts that crush your soul. God has known us for a long time even before we were born. His desire is for us to come to his saving grace while you are afflicted, while you are lost. He seeks you before you get cleaned up for He is the one who cleanses us by his shed blood. He seeks you right now, right where you are in whatever condition you are in. Why? Because he loves you that much!
Come to Jesus now in the midst of your darkness, in the midst of your sickness, in the midst of your suffering. He will not only rescue you from sin but free you to live a life that is filled with of his joy and peace. Come just as you are!
In Christ
