Be Content

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I truly believe that deep down inside, we all want to be happy in our lives. In order to find happiness, we must learn to be content in our situation of life. Not that we may want some improvements, but content with where we are right now. Contentment is defined as being happy – ok with our present status. First, we can never be content without having Jesus in our life. He answers the tough questions about being restored, saved and set free from our lives of sin. With him, we can now tackle the chore of being truly content.

With the peace that Jesus brings, we have the opportunity to learn to be happy with what we have. We are now able to end the game of “when’. When I have enough money, bigger house or the right job, then I can be happy. No, you will just want something more. It is not about what we have but who we are. When we are believers in Christ, our source of being happy, content is Jesus not our bank account.

The potential of his grace and love become our source and strength. In his hands, his promises, we find great hope, joy and contentment. Now we can rest, being happy right where we are for we have found true happiness in him.

In Christ
