We have an epidemic going on in our lives and it seems to be affecting young and old alike. We have created a life for ourselves that has no margin and space for time to rest and be at peace. We talk about our schedules and our commitments but we seem unable to control our time or our energy. We are so busy in our lives that we have no time for true rest. It is really beginning to show in our lives and results are not beneficial nor good for our future.
We often have the idea that we need to do more to really matter or make a real difference. Not so! Jesus said come to him who are weary and I will give you REST. He will not give more to do without purpose but his purpose is to restore us, give us peace we have never known. We just need to come to him- spend time with him- seek him. That requires we reset our priorities to accomplish this change in our lives. We don’t need to do more to matter to Jesus, we already do!
Carve out some real time to with your Savior and begin to see his rest become part of your life. Make him your first priority.
