“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 NIV
Today we reflect on the impact of evil and violence that exists in our world. Today reminds us of not only the dark times from years not so long ago, but also the horror of just the last few days.
These times of violence are designed to strip away any remnant of hope, of joy, and of peace that may exist in our world. When we experience these acts of horror, we are challenged to find any goodness in our lives and the world we have.
I am so thankful to my God this morning for I have been given a foundation, a faith that rises above these evil times and continues to remind me of where my hope comes from. Where do I find the strength, the courage to stand for what is good, what is right in these dark days? I find them in my Lord! But whose hope is in the Lord: will renew their strength, will soar like eagles, will run and not grow weary nor grow faint in our walk of faith. When the world totally fails us, there is only One who can restore us, save us and disperse the darkness that surrounds us- our Lord God almighty!
God’s promises are true, powerful and so desperately needed in our lives these days. Take possession of his goodness and hope today for it is the thing that brings us life.
In Christ
