“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.””
Psalms 46:10 NLTI have seen many ways that people try to gain advantage in the situations they may face. They may work harder to get ahead or try to reason a new possibility or solution to their problems. The group I see seeking advantage, sometimes at any cost, are political operatives. These kind of efforts are at best short lived and do not bring us the true peace and joy we truly long for.
Why are these only temporary? They are from man’s effort and wisdom and not God. God’s tells us plainly that the revelation of who God is, is critical. When we come to an understanding of who God really is, it will be moment that brings clarity, focus and humbleness. God is telling us to be still, stop thrashing about, stop trying to do your own thing. God is the power of all creation. He is the sum of all wisdom and source of all love and grace. What can we as mere people add to his being? Nothing, nothing at all!
We need to refocus our attention, our minds on God. To know that He is the Lord God Almighty. There is none other but Him. Our answers, our best life is wrapped up in his grace and love for us. Let us be still and let God be God. Then we will know his peace and joy!
