Overwhelming Power!

“If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Most people would equate two foundational terms in the gospel as terms of weakness, humbleness and submission. When someone humbles themselves, they are yielding to someone or something else than themselves. In worldly thinking we consider these two actions as part of defeat or loss. But in the kingdom of God, they are traits of great power for they bring about the very presence of the Lord.

The Word tells us that we are no longer our own, those who believe in Christ. We were bought with a high price and therefore are no longer in charge in our lives. Our mission is to honor the Lord in our lives and our death. We do so by living as he called us to, humble servants who have submitted to his will not our own.

The benefit of such a life is the presence of our Lord in our lives. His presence brings his power into our circumstances and that changes everything! Have overwhelming problems, larger than life issues, sickness that has no treatment: his power can change those issues from ones of hopelessness to victory. You see being humble before the Lord, submitting to our Lord is not a step towards defeat but a kneeling in the presence of God almighty. No matter what you face He can deliver you!

In Christ
