“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”

There is a difference between knowing Jesus Christ and following him. The majority of the world knows something about God and Jesus but surprisingly, very few of those people really follow Christ. Jesus’ words show us that we must give up our way, lay our lives at the cross and then follow him.
Giving up our way is not a once and done kind of event. Giving ourselves to the Lord and his will can happen many times even in one day. The need we have for our healing and restoration is an ongoing process like Paul’s life. He meet Jesus on the road and it changed his life. But, he needed to give up his will numerous times after that to truly find the light and healing he needed. God directed Paul on a daily basis and he does so with us.
Everyday we need an infusion of Jesus in our lives, a recharging of our batteries with the light of our Savior. If we are tone his light, we need him each and every day to strengthen us, show us the way. Following the path of Jesus is possible because we follow him in his glorious light! Step out of the darkness of our will and follow his light to blessings every day of your life!
