Be a People Builder for the Kingdom

“We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me.””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I have read more than a few books on how to motivate and build people in our world. Many of them were limited in scope and content. The kingdom of God makes a call to us who are believers to build people up for their calling or service for the Lord. But here the scope is eternal and the content is powerful.

Jesus did three things to build people he encountered. He challenged them, encouraged them and he told them the truth that would set them free. We all have a potential that God has given us. We need to be challenged to strive to grow and develop so we can begin to reach that potential. We as believers should challenge others to seek all that God has for them.

We also need to encourage one another so the challenges we face do not overwhelm us. Often a good word or kind gestures mean a lot to someone in the midst of a difficult time. Lastly, we need to share the real truth about life and our spiritual choices we need to acknowledge and decide on. We do no one a favor by not sharing God’s word and the good news it brings to bear in our lives. Only the truth can cut through the darkness and give us the opportunity to be set free.

Jesus was our model! So we too need to builders of people who can then claim the bounty of God’s kingdom. We were worth the effort and others are too!

In Christ
