“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Romans 8:28 NLT
It was David who said that God’s goodness pursues or follows after those who are his. David wasn’t saying all things that happen in our lives are good but that God would use everything in our lives for our good! Now God is a good God and his goodness brings men to repentance. When we see his goodness we are convicted of our sin and our need for salvation.
Paul states much the same revelation by saying “God uses everything to work together for our good for those who love God. We all have tough times, troubles and afflictions. But know that God is going use those hard times for your good and his glory. Life is not a sprint made up of just a short time frame. Life is the race we are called to run and it has many seasons. God uses today to prepare you for your tomorrows how ever many of them there will be.
When tough times show up, just remember his word tells us that his goodness is pursuing us as well. Look for his goodness in all things and you’ll be surprised how much of goodness you will find.
