Who God Says We Are

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Some of the biggest questions in our lives have to do with who we think we are- our identity. When we are young we may spend years trying to figure out who we are and what we want to do with our life. Often people are able to remake their lives by making better choices for themselves but the greatest reformation comes when we find ourselves in Christ.

Paul tells today that there was a new man created when Christ entered his life. He no longer is living but it is Christ who lives in him. You see that God has a much different perspective of who we are than we do ourselves. Some of the deepest work God will do in our lives comes attached to this issue of identity. God sees us as his children, royalty given a chosen place in his kingdom. When we come to Christ as our savior, we finally have seized upon the very person who God has called us to be.

This transformation from sinner to saint is the fruit of the cross and the price Jesus paid for us. We are new creatures in Christ, bound in grace and powered by his love. You see it doesn’t matter what we may think of ourselves . No , what matters is what God thinks of us! Thru his grace and mercy we are transformed to be heirs of the kingdom. I have to be believe that his assessment of you is much grander than your own!

You are part of a royal family in Christ, your identity is fixed in heaven forever more! Amen

In Christ
