“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”
Romans 12:1 NLT
I once heard a phrase that has stuck with me most of my life, “ talk is cheap, what matters is what you do.” Paul’s direction to us in this verse says much the same thing. If we love God, we should be living lives that demonstrate that love not only in words but in actions. When I read the sermon on the mount in Matthew, Jesus laid out for all mankind how we should live, how we should pray, how we should love.
These teachings are just suggestions my friends but direction, counsel on how our lives should look and feel. We should offer our lives to our Father who has saved us through his grace. God intends for us to live a life that is full of love, full of faith and full of his presence. We do not need to be great just faithful obedient believers who God can use for his purposes. Know that God is faithful and he desires to be Lord of our lives. When we begin living as he intended as our Lord and savior, life as it was planned to be lived can begin!
Words of worship are something we should offer daily. But, let us offer our lives, our actions, our very heart to our Lord as well. Paul says this is truly the way to worship our Father!
