When we begin to understand something in our lives and receive a greater depth about what we have known, we gain a richer insight about it. If we understand our husband or wife better we begin to better recognize who they are. It is this new insight, new information that can help us to deepen our love for them. Thus it helps us to gain a better perspective of them.
Our relationship with the Lord is much the same. The more we become aware of the nature of God the greater our ability to understand and appreciate who he is. The word says that we may have the power to grasp how much our Lord really loves us. We may not know how much someone loves us until we become aware of the actual acts of love they have done for us. Based on this factor alone, no one has loved you more than God. Look to the sacrifices he has made for you. See the willingness of God to be a part of your life, to care for you!. Look at the gifts he offers you in life and in eternity. His love is real, substantial and forever!
It is in this deep perspective of love we can find the power and the will to endure all that comes our way. We can be like Jesus, who looked past the cross to his coming glory. We too can push past our afflictions to take hold of the prize of Jesus Christ our lord and savior. Amen
