“And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.”
2 Peter 3:14 NLT
I often hear people use phrases, or words in prayers or their worship that they have learned in their Christian walk. We like to use what we have heard from others as their word’s sounded like the right thing to say. Now there is nothing wrong with this practice unless you get lost in it. God wants to hear from you, your words and feelings. He wants to connect with real you and how you doing in your walk with him.
We shouldn’t be afraid to express our emotions, thoughts and desires to God. Often this will sound very you and not something you read or heard. Peter is telling us that we should lives that are blameless and to live in peace. I have found when I am living a truthful and loving life where I can exercise my freedom in Christ to just be me, I have a greater peace as well. God wants all of us, the real us not some variation we think we should be. He gave us his best, his real heart, his unending love. Should we not give back to him our real heart, our real lives to honor him!
In Christ
