“For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.””
Acts 17:31 NIV
When did we first hear and exclaim this phrase? Was it when we saw some injustice done or was it when we ourselves suffered an injustice ourselves? Whenever it happened, we became very much aware of the injustice of this world. What event made you feel the unbalanced scales of life to the point you called out for justice?
We have all been at that moment. So we turn to our Lord and ask how long Lord will the injustice of the world go on? His answer is- not long. Coming soon will be a day of reckoning for everyone who has ever drawn a breath. God has an appointed time for the injustice to be brought to an end. There exists a relationship between justice and judgement and you cannot have one without the other!
Soon, our Lord will judge all the nations and every person who has lived. It will come down to what choices did we make to ensure we have obtained justice. There is no exemption, no way to avoid the judgment of our lives. The standard for judgment will be the righteousness of God not the laws of the world. How do we measure up? Did we commit our lives to Jesus or walk away from the one truth that could save our soul?
When you stand before the Lord will you stand there as a child of his or one who rejected the promises of Christ? The choice is yours. I pray daily that you make the decision of life before you are judged, the decision for Jesus!
In Christ
