As we walk through this new year, let us purpose in our hearts to wholly obey God’s commands. We should be people who are excited that God Almighty would use us to carry out his plan for our lives that can directly impact the lives of others. I view service to my Lord as one of the greatest privileges of my life. The creator of all the universe would use me to accomplish his great purposes. I still struggle about how quickly I respond and the passion I bring to that calling. But, we are all work in progress.
I also believe that we gain greater understanding of God’s word by obeying and doing rather just study the word. Doing, places God intent in our hearts while study, places it in our minds. Doing always teaches us more than just an academic effort. Do you desire to gain greater understanding of God’s purpose for your life, learn how to simply obey his commands quickly and completely. I also study the word daily but these times call for action on our part and that takes obedience.
I have found greater revelation of God’s word, his love, his goodness and faithfulness in the doing of his commands. These revelations stir my heart, strengthen me and give me hope for the future. Obedience is better than sacrifice my friends!
