“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”
Romans 8:31, 34 NIV
There is a foundational question everyone should ask if they seek to follow Jesus Christ. “If God be for us who can be against us?” If we choose to follow Christ, what truly are the benefits, the blessings of such a decision? We all come from a life of condemnation, a life filled with rejection and loss. Can Jesus turn this inheritance of sin around in our lives and give us a future of hope and love?
Paul tells us that there is no one who can condemn us, not one, because of the sacrifice of Christ. Jesus not only died but was raised from the dead to take his rightful place at the right hand of his Father to intercede for us. There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ. We have been redeemed, saved and set free from our sin nature. We have become children of the living God, heirs to the kingdom of heaven. What a dramatic turn of events for our eternal future.
So ask the question, if God be for us, who can be against us- who can now condemn us? NO ONE CAN! How does it feel to be truly free?
In Christ
