Tough times can require all the strength and endurance we can muster to get through them. Knowing that those around us are having their own set of issues should prompt us to seek to encourage those we meet. I am sure you have come across someone who has encouraged you in a tough time, been there for you in times of suffering. Encouragement can mean all the difference in the world to someone who is struggling.
Encouragement doesn’t take a lot talent, doesn’t take a great deal of time and often doesn’t cost you anything but a few minutes of your day. What it does require is a heart that is compassionate. If we don’t care about others, we will have no time to encourage them. We appreciate the effort and the care someone shows us in the midst of our trials, why not return the favor and help someone find their footing in a tough time?
We can help to build up others so that they can see the goodness of God in our lives. When we encourage others, we are planting seeds of grace and love in their life.
