“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”
Numbers 6:24-27 KJV
A blessing offered by someone is a gift of the heart. When we bless others whether in word, deed or substance, we are showing the desire of our heart to that person. I believe the practice of blessing comes from God. We as humans are naturally focused on ourselves and have to be taught, guided into the art of blessing others.
These verses are a great blessing of God upon his people, upon us. Why, because God loves us. But I want you to focus on the last verse, the verse of possession.
Here God tells his people to take on His Name, become His possession and He will bless them. How great is the fact we have become His people, restored to our creator, the lover of our soul!
